About
Established in January 2020, the Texas Innovation Center is the hub at The University of Texas at Austin for bringing engineering and science discoveries and technologies to the market.
The center is part of the Cockrell School of Engineering and collaborates with the College of Natural Sciences and the Discovery to Impact team, who are stakeholders in supporting technology commercialization at UT Austin.
While the center’s primary focus is STEM faculty and graduate students, we welcome collaboration with other areas of campus and opportunities to work synergistically across the Forty Acres.
Mission
To create and foster a community and culture for collaborative research and entrepreneurship in support of technology commercialization.
Vision
The Texas Innovation Center provides the resources needed to support the movement of new ideas and inventions into thriving businesses that successfully access the marketplace while preparing innovators to succeed in a global economy.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion — Our Pledge
The Texas Innovation Center remains committed to building an inclusive environment, free from all forms of hate, racism, and injustice, where students, faculty, and staff feel safe and supported. Every member of our community — whoever you are, wherever you are from, and whatever you believe — is valued. Never forget that you belong here.
The Texas Innovation Center actively works to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion by serving historically underserved and underrepresented entrepreneurs, founders, and researchers. We are dedicated to cultivating an ecosystem where everybody feels empowered, regardless of their background.
